Our Story
In a small community in Ghana, there is a school where the future of education hangs by a thread. The Jerusalem D/A Primary School is the only hope for many children in the area—a place where they dream of becoming doctors, engineers, teachers, and leaders. But this dream is being stifled by the harsh realities they face every day.
The school has no proper classrooms. The existing structures are crumbling, leaving children to study in unsafe and overcrowded spaces. When it rains, lessons are disrupted as students scramble to avoid getting soaked. When the sun beats down, the heat makes it nearly impossible to focus. Yet, despite these challenges, the children show up every day, eager to learn.
No Toilets, No Playgrounds, Just Struggles
One of the most heartbreaking aspects of their plight is the lack of basic sanitation facilities. There are no toilets at the school. These children, as young as five or six years old, must go into the bushes when nature calls, exposing them to health risks and discomfort. For girls, especially, this lack of privacy and hygiene creates significant barriers to their education.
There is also no playground—no place for these children to laugh, run, or simply be kids. Physical activity, a vital part of childhood development, is a luxury they cannot afford.
The Struggles Beyond the Classroom
For many of these children, the challenges don’t end at school. Many arrive barefoot, walking long distances on rocky paths just to get an education. Others wear tattered uniforms, and some don’t have school supplies. Recognizing their resilience and determination, our foundation stepped in to provide uniforms and shoes to give them a sense of dignity and pride. The smiles on their faces that day reminded us why this mission is so critical.
A Safe Haven for Learning
Now, we are taking the next step: building a three-classroom block for Jerusalem D/A Primary School. This isn’t just about bricks and mortar; it’s about giving these children a safe and supportive environment where they can learn and grow without fear. The new facility will include:
Three durable classrooms with proper furniture to replace the hazardous spaces they currently use.
Toilet facilities to ensure hygiene and restore dignity for students and teachers.
A foundation for future projects, including play areas and additional infrastructure to support holistic education.
